how did you guys do it?
Ice caves of sorrow is like impossible, disabling the machines that blow sh*t up is easy for the ones down on the ice, but the ones across the bridge are impossible to get to (unless there is another way to get to them)
Me and a few partys have tried to run it but we die every single time.
Can you guys suggest any ideas or plans for making it through the mission?

if your getting down to the ice ok...
Ensure you take out the 2 engineers on both ships...then pull the lever
Cut scene//// you will have a morale boost of 10% when you run back up hill
pass the ship you will see bison running away.
follow the path ignore the first group on your right as you go up kill of a few groups...then if 2 human guys blow the gate nearest the kegs.(this is one you go in)..one of you go bk get another..your heros will do the rst up to next gate(saves you tme)
Follow it around as if you want bonus you will need to open the gate the Jadearmour guys are at kill off///the flag your heros towards the gate to kill/ as musseratt will kill you as not infused....
open gate kil 3 guys run to top blow open other gate to action bonus
go back out and you will see opening go out and hold left go back in next ice cave your at to free prisioners..
Tip as groups roam in a circle let them pass and follow down to get 2 barrells open the gate next to prisioners first then free prisioners
go in gate you opened go to top stay there and wait till musserat pass go out run right and obtain bonus..
then just follow the musseratt let them go in front at a distance then easy peasy from there

The first time I did this mission, I didn't realise about the lever either. Basically, I did it with my monk, and after running through the catapults rezzed my team of heroes and henchies. By pulling the Mursaat I cleared them, and wiped the penalty by manually destroying the catapults. After that it was a breeze.
Then I played with my brother, who knew about the lever...and had still failed the mission before...

The large group of mursaat never turn around. They aren't a patrol; they start from near the bonus dwarf and continue to the end of the mission (it's a one-way path across the frozen ice bit), where they get blown apart by the catapaults. If you're trying to follow the NPC that runs off, followed by a large mob, you're going the wrong way. Blow the wall open and go that way instead.

I think he may be talking about the mursaat patrolling near the prisoners you need to free, which do circle around the area.
You need to watch the patrols closely there and time yourself to avoid them. Don't try to kill anything except a group up in the cave you pass through while crossing to the far side. Get to the hill in front of the gate on the other side from where you enter and pin your H&H up there out of the way. Carefully make your way to the powder kegs, avoiding the patrols in the center. Go back and blow the gate to clear your escape route. Return to the powder kegs, then go back and free the prisoners.

He said he'd got the bonus which means:
- He's outside the Ice Caves
- The Mursaat patrol has already moved off.
Seriously, a-kyle - this is a first-chapter mission. The people replying here have played it hundreds of times over the last four years - it never changes!
That group of Mursaat (16 of them?) just trawl their way down towards the end of the mission, gradually getting destroyed by the ballistae. Your only worry is the few straggling groups of White Mantle - and a few runs through ballista zones.
This mission was designed for people with no protection against the Mursaat, so they are deliberately avoidable.
